Versatile Retention™ is a software-based research tool for identifying the statutory
and regulatory requirements to retain business records. Federal and state laws require that businesses and others keep various types of records for certain periods of time. Finding and complying with all such laws has become increasingly burdensome for companies due to the growing complexity and breadth of the law.
Versatile Retention includes over 18,000 federal and state statutory and regulatory requirements for retaining records. Each citation includes the pertinent text of the applicable statute and highlighted retention requirements. The retention requirements include federal statutes, as well as regulations appearing in the Code of Federal Regulations and the Federal Register. State requirements include
laws and regulations promulgated by regulatory authorities.
We designed Versatile Retention to be intuitive and easy to use—no training is necessary. In fact, you can launch the application and start researching in seconds. Versatile Retention consists
of three main features:
1. The Retention database consisting
of over 18,000 statues and regulations from which you can search retention requirements
2. The Interviews section that enables you to collect and store information
3. The Schedules section that allows
you to create your retention schedules
Depending on where you are in the retention scheduling process, you can use all three tools, or use only the features that you need.
Having access to the newest and updated citations is easy with Versatile Retention. A live data-update feature automatically connects to our Retention servers each time you launch the application. If there are new citation updates, you are automatically notified that they are available for download!*
