Boise, Idaho. – March, 2006 –Zasio Enterprises, a leading provider of physical and electronic records management software, announced today that officials from the U.S. Department of Defense Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certified Versatile Enterprise v7 as compliant with federal electronic records management standards.
The standards defined in DoD 5015.2 blanket all electronic records—regardless of storage media—including e-mail. The Standard sets forth mandatory baseline functional requirements and identifies non-mandatory features deemed desirable for records management application software. Rigorous requirements include systematic procedures for classifying, securing, auditing, and destroying records. DoD 5015.2-STD is endorsed by The National Archives and Records Administration and the RMA Compliance Testing Program.
This marks the second certification process for Versatile Enterprise, with the certification of version 6 back in December 2003. Although Versatile Enterprise has been widely used by hundreds of large organizations over the last decade, the recertification of Versatile Enterprise offers a better choice in records management software to companies seeking to manage records under the DoD 5015.2 standards.
Versatile Enterprise manages both physical and electronic records, including e-mail for Lotus Notes and Outlook, word processing documents, spreadsheets, PDF files, scanned images, and more, in a central and secure repository. Retention schedules are applied automatically, providing consistent enforcement of record retention polices across an organization.
With the recent announcement of the new Collaboration module, a complement to Versatile Enterprises’ Electronic Records Management System (ERMS), Versatile Enterprise applies the best records management practices to everyday productivity needs.
